Mother Teresa (1910–1997) was a Catholic nun and humanitarian dedicated to helping marginalized communities facing poverty, illness, and social exclusion. Born in Albania as Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu, she founded the Missionaries of Charity in 1950, an organization that provides care, dignity, and support to those in need, regardless of background or belief.

Through her work, she established hospices, orphanages, and medical centres, offering compassion and relief to people experiencing extreme hardship. Her commitment to humanitarian service earned her the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979, and she was canonized as Saint Teresa of Calcutta in 2016.

While aspects of her work and views have sparked debate, her lasting impact as an advocate for empathy, kindness, and social justice continues through the Missionaries of Charity, which operates in over 130 countries worldwide.
